After the update the database access didn’t work anymore. Instead of fixing it I decided to take the opportunity and switch to a new engine. I wanted to change the technology of this site anyway and this was just the push to begin with it! So I have chosen a static site generator called Octopress . No PHP and no database anymore. No server side code, only static files. But you still get dynamic behaviour with external services. For example the comments will be powered by Disqus . The only dynamic behaviour will be the reaction to status code 404. I want to keep track when someone tries to access pages from the old structure and want to provide some redirections/shoehorning into the new structure.
